Describe a Person Who Contributes to Society. You Should Say:
- Who This Person Is?
- How Did You Know Him/her?
- What Type of Work Does He/she Do?
- And Explain Why You Think He/she Contributes to Society.
I would like to talk about someone who has contributed positively to the community. I have come across different people who have impacted society in one way or another, but I would like to talk about someone who is so distinctive because of his contributions to society.
His name is Mr Jones; he lives very close to my house, so I see him almost every day. He’s in his 50s; he is talkative and dark in complexion. He is a schoolteacher. He teaches mathematics and Biology.
I believe he is doing well for society because it happened some years back when I was in my final year of high school; I was preparing for my final year examination. I really don’t like mathematics and biology, so I had difficulty with the two subjects.
I approached Mr Jones, and he volunteered to teach me after school hours; not only that, but some of my classmates and final-year students in the neighbourhood also joined his extra lessons. Mr Jones told us he would be teaching us for free, and he not only taught us mathematics and biology but also taught us other science subjects without collecting a dime from us.
Our parents were on cloud nine because this was a great relief for them as they wouldn’t have to pay money for lessons. Many people were proud of him, and I adore him because of this great move.

Part 3 Questions
Question 1:- Do people nowadays help others more than in the past?
I believe people rendered assistance in the past more than today. In the past, people lived as one big family; they related well and gave helping hands to the needy and less privileged among them. But today, people are so busy with their own lives and work that they can’t even see if someone needs help.
Question 2:- What types of people (parents, teachers, friends, etc.) are best to influence young people’s behaviour?
I believe all of them have a huge impact on their lives. Parents, teachers, and friends have different roles to play in instilling good morals in youngsters.
Question 3:-In What kind of professions do people help others more?
From my perspective, nurses and doctors assist people more because they nurse and care for patients who are sick or incapacitated in one way or another; they treat them, give them their drugs, connect them to their families, and more.

Individuals can assist people in society in many ways. First, they can donate to the needy or less privileged. Second, they can volunteer to work in places such as motherless baby homes, geriatric homes, hospitals, and many more; by doing so, they are giving back to society.
Question 5:- Why do you think some people like to help other people?
Some individuals like to render assistance to people because they have experienced such harsh situations before; they know what it feels like to be in that position. Furthermore, they assist people because they are naturally caring and compassionate.
