  • What it is?
  • How you hear it?
  • What lesson or moral it teaches?
  • And explain why possibly this is a popular story in your country.

There are a number of stories popular in our country that offer us fruitful morals. But here, I would like to share with you a story that imparts a unique moral.

In this story, a peasant has 4 sons. All of his sons always fought with each other. The peasant was very nervous to see this, as he wanted to pass all the responsibilities to his sons because he was getting older and becoming weaker every day.

One day, he devised a plan. He called all of his sons and gave one stick of wood to each son, instructing them to break it. They all broke their sticks easily. Then, the old man handed them a bundle of 20 sticks and told them to try to break it šŸŒæ.

Each son tried with full effort, but they couldn’t break the bundle. The father then explained that, like the sticks, if they lived apart from each other, people would easily defeat them. But if they lived together, they would never be defeated, just like a bundle of wood sticks šŸ¤. Afterwards, all the sons promised their father to live together for the rest of their lives.
