Describe a Website You Often Visit
- What It Is About?
- How You Found Out About It?
- How Often Do You Visit It?
- And Explain Why You Often Visit It.
Well, if I decide to choose a website that helps me with my English level, it’s a good place for me to brush up on my English.
I joined this course because I have been preparing for the IELTS exam since 2019, and my lower level is in speaking. I cannot speak with anyone, even though I have a lot of words, and I have just spoken to myself.
So, after I attended live meetings every week, I had a chance to talk with other students from different countries; this really helped me because we had a topic, and we had a private room to talk about anything we wanted, related to the topic or not.
From time to time, there are new idioms which helped me to increase my level of English. Of course, there’s a chance to write, and this is great. I have found many websites to choose the best resource as a new learner, but this encourages me. And I keep going to practice with them.
Part 3 Questions
Question 1: What are the most popular and least popular apps in your country?
In my country, most people are big fans of Twitter and Snapchat. They use these apps to show people their daily routines or have a speech and for snapshots. It has been increasing in my country recently because of this. Off the camera, it’s very useful, and of course, you can take a short video, which is different from YouTube. There is privacy in having a small number of followers watching your videos and pictures.
Question 2: Who in your family uses the site?
All members of my family use the website, and the most popular one is Google. My mother uses it to read the news. 📰 She told me it is very simple and useful, and the articles are short. She can read them quickly, of course; when she is outside the house, she enjoys reading them and not necessarily hearing the news on TV because it is published on the site first. Just click on the update of news today, and it will show you.
Question 3: Will the Internet replace the teacher?
I think it will change the way of studying because, during the pandemic of COVID-19, many students studied at home, so they found it very easy, and they feel comfortable to wear. If anyone wants to study in any room, some schools are not required to open the camera, which is why many parents and children are grateful, to be honest. I think technology has more of an effect on children nowadays than on teachers.
Question 4: Will downloading music or movies for free cause a problem?
Some people say that downloading music affects the company’s investment. The consumption of albums has reduced, and many people have abandoned having a CD at home. I don’t think that because it’s a waste of money to buy albums that are free on the Internet, and you can download anything you want and enjoy it anytime, so it is not a serious problem.
Question 5: What’s the difference between the Internet and television?
There is a gap between television and the Internet. Television just shows you their preference and focuses on boring shows, for example, children’s programs or news, but the Internet is different. You can write anything you want and put it in the list of your favourite things, and they just show you that. The difference between watching movies on television, for example, is losing time. There is a lot of advertising every now and again, which is boring, and many cannot watch TV for a long time.
Question 6: Why do people like to read the news on the Internet instead of on TV?
There are so many reasons behind this. In other words, the Internet is easy, and you can just listen to the short news without waiting for a long time to hear it, and you just write about that topic, and everything related to it will be compared to the TV when people watch the news don’t understand it, due to focusing on unnecessary things, not many people enjoy it.
Question 7: What kinds of people like going to the library to read and study?
People keen on quiet places and to be alone when they are studying, for instance, I find it very difficult to study at my home because there are a lot of members and there isn’t a private room for studying, so I like going to the library and having my space and focusing more.
Question 8: Is the library still necessary? Why?
The library is very necessary for a student who is studying at University. I remember when I was a student in the last course. I have researched the impact of technology on children’s behaviour, and I checked on the Internet, and it gave me the wrong information, but I found out more by visiting the library. There are so many books that I spend around 3 hours reading some of them.
Question 9: What are the differences between old people and young people when they use the Internet?
Well, there is a gap between old people and younger people. The oldest people enjoy talking by phone, but the younger generation enjoys sending videos or having a chat with their friends or families, which is very difficult. Grandparents may communicate by writing rather than they enjoy hearing their grandson or daughter’s voice to cheer up.
Question 10: What kind of people don’t use the Internet, and what are the disadvantages that those people suffer because they don’t use the Internet?
In my country, old people who are around 60 or above age enjoy living without the Internet most of the time; they just watch TV or catch up with their peers, but this is very hard for their children when they travel to other countries or live far away from their parents they can’t talk with them because their parents cannot use the phone so they must be near to them to someone tells them about the call.
