Describe an occasion when you ate something for the first time
- When you had it?
- Where you ate it?
- What was it?
- And how you felt about it?
Well, I use a meal chart to avoid the temptation of gluttony, but, sometimes unconsciously, I fall into the trap of delicious cuisines. Here I would like to narrate one incident when I tasted a veg thali in Amritsar when I went to pay obeisance to Almighty. It was in the bygone days, and it was getting dark when we reached Amritsar, and we did not find vegetarian food anywhere. Hence, I called my friend who lived in Amritsar, and he suggested that I go to Apne Kitchen in Amritsar, a well-known place for eating traditional food.
So we reached there, and I must say, just seeing the big steel platter with the assortment of food items made my jaw drop. Even now, I drool just thinking of it. Besides, the hostess’s hospitality made me surprised who explained the vegetable that was served first and it was a blend of all leafy vegetables. It was mouth-watering, and its color, texture consistency was incomparable. So I tasted with butter naan, and the meal was ended with a dessert, which was carrot pudding, and it was lip-smacking. So this was the food that I first tasted.
