It Is Important for People to Take Risks, in Both Their Professional Lives and Personal Lives. Do the Advantages of Taking These Risks Outweigh the Disadvantages?
It is important to take risks in work and personal life. I believe the merits outweigh the demerits, and this essay will elaborate on this question statement.
First of all, risk-taking is more or less part of human life such that one’s ability to make this decision can expose a person to an unexpected beginning as an advantage. A decision like this is a perfect way for individuals and sometimes brings about an opportunity to meet new people, generate new ideas, and explore places. An example is Agyei Charles of Ghana’s history, who used his last savings to stake a lottery with expectations of winning and being able to fulfil his dreams. He wanted to buy a car and a house and set up a new firm. Surprisingly, this risk paid off when he won and was able to accomplish all his wishes. This allowed him to meet managers and CEOs, who, in turn, gave him exposure to life and broadened his horizons.
Conversely, a disadvantage is stress and depression. The initiative of risk also poses a threat to the health of many individuals, and some even lead to death. After taking risks, we await the expectation, and if this turns out wrong, then people tend to believe they are better off without life, and such thoughts lead to suicidal issues, with most of them even taking their lives.
In conclusion, I believe the advantages of risk-taking supersedes not taking it at all. The ability to gain exposure and broaden your knowledge is paramount, whereas the disadvantage of taking one’s life is highly unacceptable. Taking risks requires a level of boldness in decision-making.
