More and More People Are Becoming Seriously Overweight

More and more people are becoming seriously overweight. Some people say that the price increase of fattening foods will solve this problem. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The Paradigm shift is responsible for making more and more people couch potatoes. Some individuals consider that escalating the prices of greasy food will solve this problem. I thoroughly disagree with the above-mentioned statement as fewer fortune people, who rarely consume buttery food, will not be able to eat. Moreover, many people will face redundancy.

To commence with, hiking prices of fat food could solve no problem. Firstly, it will have no effect on the elite class as they can eat even by spending more money to satisfy their craving for such food. It will create a problem for the weaker section. The people, who eat occasionally, will not be able to eat it. They cannot spend more money on such oily food. For instance, the people who live in slum areas or are below the poverty line are always struggling for making both ends meet. Spending more than their daily wages is out of the question. Oily food from Dominos, Subway and McDonald’s is costlier than any other company. It would be a luxury food for the rich, but for the poor, it is just their imagination.

Moving further, manufacturers, as well as staff, will suffer a lot. Many people will lose their jobs, and resultantly economy will decline. As a matter of fact, the government will not be able to collect taxes, and the economy of a nation will also decline because these fast food outlets provide more income to the government. To exemplify it, masses who are not literate but they are experts in making fast food, and this is the only source of income for them. They will suffer both mentally and financially. Their art of cooking will slow down, and they will experience depression. Thus fatty food has a big hand in turning the lives of people.

To conclude, thus, in consideration of the above analysis, it is clear that imposing a higher tax on fatty food is an impractical step. It will bring loss to the food industry as well as to the people who work in the food factories.
