More and more people today are moving away from where their friends and family live. Do the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages?
Every individual has a dream, and to fulfil it, many have to move to another place far from their family and friends. Like every coin has two sides, there are both merits and demerits of moving out, and I believe the benefits of this are more than drawbacks. In the forthcoming paragraphs, I will highlight both advantages and disadvantages and why I think the advantages are more.
Megacities have more job and education opportunities than small villages or towns, and many youngsters leave their motherland. Moreover, although parents dislike the idea, they support it for their children’s better future. Merits of this change are many; for instance, better lifestyle as the cities have state-of-the-art amenities and facilities in terms of healthcare, education, entertainment, and many more, remuneration is also more in the towns. When people move to cities, they can learn to become self-dependent. If they stay with their parents, they do not have significant responsibilities. Still, as they move out and stay alone, they have all the blame on their shoulders. Hence, it is good to shift to achieve desired dreams.
On the other hand, there are some disadvantages of moving out also. The major one is not getting home-cooked food. Outside food is oily and spicy, which is not suitable for everyone, and because of a busy work schedule, it is challenging to prepare meals every day. Another problem is that the expenses in the cities are high; as a result, initially, one has to share accommodations and adjust to all kinds of people. Furthermore, if one is unable to visit family regularly, feels homesick, and sometimes, a mental breakdown occurs. To cite an example, a survey suggests that many youngsters suffer from depression, and the primary reason is feeling lonely.
However, if one wants to gain something, one has to lose something, changes are complex during the initial period, but if we look at the bright side of moving out, one gets a chance to live their dreams. They can be self-dependent, and after a few years of struggle, it is also possible for the whole family to move to the city. Their children’s future becomes secure as they get a better education. Additionally, they can meet new people in the town who can turn into friends for life. Hence, the benefits of moving outweigh the drawbacks.
To conclude, staying away from family and friends is not easy, but if one wants a better future, it is sometimes necessary to go out of their comfort zone; ultimately, in the long run, it would benefit everyone in the family. Isn’t it?
