Question 1:- What’s the weather like where you live?

I live in the eastern part of Nigeria, where we experience the rainy season and dry season, but currently, we are experiencing the rainy season.

Question 2- Do you prefer cold or hot weather?

Both seasons have advantages and disadvantages, but personally, I prefer the cold weather to the hot season.

Question 3:- Do you prefer dry or wet weather?

The dry weather in my country also has harmattan, and I prefer that period because it is the end of the year and also associated with festivals.

Question 4:- Are you in the habit of checking the weather forecast?

I think I checked the weather forecast based on the season. For example, during the rainy season, I tend to check the weather forecast on my phone to know if I should get an umbrella while leaving the house.

Question 5:- What do you think are the effects of climate change in recent years?

The effects of climate change are due to deforestation and industrialization of an area. When trees are cut down, the areas become less chilly and hotter, while the increased building of industries can lead to disruption of ozone layers due to the gas emitted.

Question 6:- Would you like to visit other cities that have different climates from where you live?

I would love to visit other countries to experience a different climate. For instance, the United Kingdom has four seasons; I’d love to experience the autumn and winter climates.

Question 7:- How do you usually dress for different types of weather?

For the wet season, I usually have footwear made with rubbers to avoid spoiling because the road becomes muddy, and it is not suitable for wearing a leather shoe. I also wear a thinking outfit such as a sweater and jeans to prevent cold. On the other period, like the dry season, I wear very light clothes such as chiffon dresses to reduce being hot.

Question 8:- Are there any traditional or cultural celebrations or events in your country that are influenced by the weather?

Yes, in my country, a festival known as the New Yam Festival is held immediately after the rainy season. This is to bless the gods for having successfully planted the yams and to experience the harvest.

Question 9:- Does the weather in your country change a lot throughout the year?

No, there are little changes, especially in the duration. For instance, while I was a child, the harmattan season usually started in the first week of October and ended in January the following year, but presently, it takes off from the last month of November until the end of January the following year.
