Recent IELTS Speaking Part 1 Questions with Answers: Work or Studies

Question 1. What work do you do?

I recently completed my B.Tech. in information technology, so I was looking for a job. I found one, but it is not permanent but primary work, so I’m doing it right now in software development.

Question 2. Why did you choose to do that type of work?

I chose to do this type of work because, as I said earlier, I am an IT engineer with good skills in developing software and solving thread problems on web pages. I’m very good at my job and very skilled in software development.

Question 3. Do you like your job?

Yes, definitely. I love my job because they gave me my desired salary, my office environment is perfect, I have flexible working hours, and the company that I work for is also very famous.

Question 4. Is it exciting?

Yes, it’s very interesting because I am a software engineer, and it was my dream when I was in 12th grade. I dream of working for a big company and having a higher salary, and I’m also very fond of software and technologies.

Question 5. Do you miss being a student?

Yes, certainly. I miss my school and college days because my friends and I used to play together, and we had nothing to worry about except studying, and now we have to worry about our salaries and our responsibilities.

Question 6. What subject(s) are you studying?

I’m not starting any particular subject right now, but when I was in school, I learned different kinds of subjects: social science, mathematics, chemistry, and many more.

Question 7. Why did you choose to study that subject/those subjects?

Some of them I didn’t choose because those subjects were mandatory, and some of them, like math, chemistry, and physics, I decided because I have an interest in the science field and technology.

Question 8. Do you like your subject? Why/Why not?

Yes, I like different subjects; that’s why I chose the science field, but some subjects, like the language subject, could have been more exciting to me because my biggest weakness is language learning. I have many difficulties learning different kinds of languages, such as Hindi and space, especially English.

Question 9. Is it exciting?

Yes, some of them are very interesting because whenever I study them, I learn something new.

I’m already working for a big company, and I want an excellent working experience and some pressure to manage my role at the company.

Question 11. Do you prefer to study in the mornings or afternoons?

I prefer to study in the morning because, after I do my morning chores, I am more energetic in mind and body so that I can grasp more knowledge in the morning.
