Professional jobs are paramount to the sustainability of every country. While some believe that workers with specialized skills should be made to practice in their home country, others think they can practice in a foreign country. This essay shall strongly subscribe to the latter. Meanwhile, the two contrasting views shall be critically analyzed, after which a logical conclusion will be drawn.
On the other hand, opponents who prefer skilled workers to practice in their home country believe they will encounter numerous challenges as they work in a different place. Undoubtedly, specialized workers like nurses, doctors, laboratory technicians and so on are likely to demonstrate some form of hesitations in their field of work when they happen to work in another country where the scope of practice might be a little different from their regular jobs at home. To buttress this point, there are several occasions where nurses who travel overseas to work face difficulties in executing their duties. It is not easy for professionals to work elsewhere.
On the other hand, those who think individuals working in regulated occupations should have the liberty to work anywhere because job descriptions for these jobs are primarily similar everywhere. Although some countries might have slightly different ways of executing the duties of an exceptionally skilled job, most of them are very alike. As such, workers can thrive in other places. For example, working as a physician in Britain bear no significant difference from working in the US, as their job descriptions are almost the same. Thus, professionals should be made to practice in different countries.
In conclusion, both sides of the argument have their merits. However, I believe individuals in regulated jobs should be allowed to work overseas. Still, they should be required to go through additional training to enable them to practice safely.
