The bar graphs depict the number of hours worked per week in the industrial sectors in France, Denmark, Sweden, and the UK for 2002.

Overall, it is apparent that the maximum number of workers worked was 36 to 40 hours, but in France, the maximum number of workers worked 31 to 35 hours per week. An in-depth analysis of the bar graphs reveals that, in France, approximately 50 % of the workers work 31 -35 hours per week. Only 20% of workers worked 40 – 50 hours.

Sweden witnessed the highest proportion of people working for 36-40 hours. Sweden workers contributed the least when it comes to working for 1 to 14 hours per week compared to the UK, Denmark and France, where almost 10 % of workers worked just between 1 – 14 hours per week.

Furthermore, the percentage of workers in the UK with working hours 46-50 and 50+ hours is almost 20% compared to other European countries, where only 10% work in France and Denmark and just over 5% in the case of Sweden.
