The diagrammatic representations illustrate how cement is being manufactured and the way it is used for making concrete in building houses.

In cement production, various machines are involved, and these include; Crusher, a mixer, a rotating heater, grinder. The raw materials are limestone and clay. Initially, limestone and clay are poured into the crusher where it is being crushed into powder, the powder move into the mixer for mixing, then to the rotating heater for heating process, therefore enters the grinder for grinding which result into cement. The final stage of manufacturing is Bagging, where cement is packed into bags for transportation and distribution to consumers.

Cement is used in concrete production, although not the major ingredient. About 15 per cent of it is added to 50 per cent of gravel, 10 per cent of water and 25 per cent of sand into the concrete mixer, where the materials are mixed together to give concrete.
