According to the given data, vast numbers of elephants are found in India. In 1997 almost 10,000 elephant was in India, and in the next ten years, the figures declined to near about 7500. Myanmar maintained the second position with the number 5000 plus in 1994, and in 2004 the number slightly decreased by 5000. Thailand had almost 4000 elephants in 1994 but rapidly declined in 2004 to nearly 1200. Moving ahead, Malaysia and Sri Lanka had the same number of elephants in 1994, but in 2004, Malaysia only had one-third elephants as compared to Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, Laos had almost the same number of elephants in both given years, nearly 1000, and Vietnam was at the same stage as Laos. Cambodia had 1100 elephants in 1994, but in 2004 it crossed its number compared to 1994. China had 1000 elephants in 1994, but it decreased by half in 2004.

Overall, India won the race and had the most elephants in both years, and China was at the bottom of the table.
