The Table Below Gives Information on Uk Acid Rain Emissions, Measured in Millions of Tonnes

The table below gives information on UK acid rain emissions, measured in millions of tonnes, from four different sectors between 1990 and 2007. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below. Make comparisons where relevant.

The given tabular data depicts the information about the acid rain emission in the U.K. from data collected from four various sectors between 1990 to 2007 in millions of tonnes as measuring unit.

Overall, it can be seen clearly that the total emission of acid rain decreased throughout the given time, and the electricity, gas and water supply sectors showed a drastic change in acid rain emission.

To begin with, in the domestic section, the total emission in 1991 was around 0.6, which remained the same until the year 1994 and pursued the same pattern of decreasing and staying constant. By 2007 the emission measured domestic was 0.2 million tonnes. Transport and communication showed a steady growth at first, from 0.6 in 1991 to 1 by the end of 2005. However, before reaching 2007, the emission value decreased and reached 0.6 again.

Probing further, in 1991, acid rain emission by the other industries was 2.1 million tonnes, and the value stood the same for almost two years. After that, the sector showed a great decline in acid rain emissions and reached 1.2 in 2007. The sector which showed a great decline was electricity, gas and water supply whose final emission was 0.5 in 2007 from 3.4 in 1991.
