The given table elucidates the home appliances purchased by natives of Britain between 1972 and 1983. The data is calibrated in per cent.

Overall, it is clear that the majority of people bought a television for their household, whereas dishwasher was owned by the least proportion of domestics.

Analyzing the details, in 1972, the ratio of the central heating appliance was bought by 39% of total domestics of Britain. Meanwhile, the percentage inclined to 55% in 1979 and continued to proliferate till 1983 when 64% of Britain households owned a central heating appliance. There were minor variations in the ownership of television from 1972 to 1983, which were 93% in the initial year, 96% in 1976, 97% in 1979 and 98% in the last year. Only 18% of total domestics in Britain owned a video in 1983, and before 1983, none of the houses had any possession of videos.

Moving further, in Britain, 87% of total houses purchased a vacuum cleaner in 1972, and however, after some variations, the per cent was recorded to be at 95% in 1972. Refrigerators were owned by 73% of total domestics in 1972, and by the final year, the ownership of fridges grew to 94% in Britain. Washing machines and telephones were bought by 66% and 42% of households respectively, and the percentage rose by 13% and 34% in 1982 respectively. Moreover, 80% and 77% of households of Britain purchased a washing machine and telephone in 1983 respectively.
