Weekends IELTS Speaking Part 1 Questions With Answers
Question 1. How do you usually spend your weekends? What do you typically do on weekends?
Answer – I am working in the retail industry. I usually get holidays on Sunday which I spend with my family. That’s how I spend my weekends.
Question 2. In your country, do men and women usually do the same kind of things on weekends (or in their free time)?
Answer – Not the same type of work; I can say how my wife and I are doing. I prefer to watch movies while my wife likes to prepare different kinds of food recipes.
Question 3. When do you spend time with your family?
Answer – As I mentioned before, I spend my whole weekend with my family by taking them out, having dinner together.
Question 4. What did you do last weekend?
Answer – Last weekend I went to the market to buy some groceries and vegetables, helped my wife prepare lunch in the afternoon. After having lunch, we had a little conversation about the last weekdays. Later in the evening, we went out for dinner.
Question 5. What do other people in your hometown (or in your country) usually do on weekends?
Answer: Well, I can say my friends and colleagues prefer to go out with friends for movies, visit family members, go out for long trips, etc.
Question 6. What are you going to do next weekend?
Answer –Yeah, next weekend we are planning to go out for a picnic at the Botanical Garden, Which is a 40-minute drive from my place, it’s a small garden with a bit of park. It consists of beautiful flowers and plants; some sitting arrangements are there in the part where I could sit with family members and have breakfast and spend some time then come back.
Question 7. Is there anything new that you would like to do on weekends?
Answer – Of course, I was planning to go for a long drive for the past couple of months, but I still didn’t get the appropriate time and plan, wanting to organise a trip with family members and friends. Whereas I like to engage with people, I am a fun-loving person.
Question 8. Do you like working on weekends?
Answer – To be frank, not really, but my industry retail showroom demands my presence every weekend because we can expect more customers, especially when it’s the peak day for business. So there is no option for me to choose. It’s monetary to be at work on weekends.
Question 9. Do you think employees should have to work on weekends?
Answer – Well, it’s not in the employee’s hand; it entirely depends on the industry where you are working. If you take an example manufacturing industry, they work on a shift basis whereas retail industry or service Industries choose.
Question 10. Do you think that weekends now are more important to you than when you were a child?
Answer – Yes, of course, there are no commitments in childhood like family time and no pre-planned activities for weekends. At present, we have specially postponed some occasions for weekends like weddings, birthday parties, friends and family get together, etc. Whereas in childhood no need to apply for leave or permissions from the workplace. It’s worth seeing weekends at this age level.
