You Are a Student at An English Language School and Are Living in Private Accommodation

You are a student at an English language school and are living in private accommodation with other students from the school. You have not had hot water or heating for some time. The landlord’s workmen have tried to fix the problem but without success. Write a letter to the landlord. In your letter:

  • State your reason for writing.
  • Describe the problems.
  • Propose a solution.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am Ankitha studying at the English Communication school. I have stayed in the accommodation with my peers in a private community for the past six months. I am writing this letter to express my discontent towards the amenities causing the apartment’s distress.

To begin with, the water heater that is available in the washroom is not functioning, and we are experiencing difficulties using it regularly. The scavengers had already tried their best to repair the device, but unfortunately, it ceased after a week. Despite a standard heater available in the main hall, it is challenging for the four of us to utilize it simultaneously as we have the same reporting hours to the school.

Furthermore, we informed the electrician, and he was alarmed that it was obsolete and it was better to purchase an alternate one. There is a website on the internet which provides detailed data on all the appliances for the home at affordable prices. Hence on behalf of all my friends, I request you to replace the heater with a new model and please visit the portal for further information.

Thank you in advance, and hope to hear from you soon.

Yours faithfully,
