You missed attending a friend’s invite. Write a letter to your friend:

Hi, I Hope you are doing fine. I am so sorry that I could not attend your Bridal shower. I know how important it was to you, and I feel bad for not being there.
I really wanted to be there but had some emergency that I could not unsee. My father was not feeling well, and I had to take him to the hospital. I thought I would be accessible by the time your shower started, but things didn’t go as planned.
Had to run him thru some tests as his sugar was high, and his ECG wasn’t normal. I tried calling you to inform you that I won’t be able to make it, but I guess you were busy with the preparations and were not available.
I promise I will make it up to you. I will be the first in all your wedding events by your side always.
