You Relocated to An Overseas Country Recently and Shipped Your Furniture

You relocated to an overseas country recently and shipped your furniture and other possessions through a shipping company. When you received them, you found some of them got damaged. Write a letter to the delivery manager of the shipping company:

  • When and where the shipment was
  • Describe the damages
  • What do you want the shipment company to do.

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing this epistle to express my resentment over the problem of furniture and other electrical appliances, crockeries and various other antique things which got damaged during shipment.

Let me inform you that my whole family members and I have recently migrated from India to Canada. I decided to shift my furniture and other things overseas through your firm as I have heard from one of my friends your shipment is really on the peek. So, I have sent my furniture on 15/11/2020, but it has arrived 20 days after the date of commencement.

Suffice to say that, when I unpacked my furniture, it abruptly caught my attention. I was taken aback to see this, and I got really apprehensive because my things were torn and cracked. Furniture was entirely broken. Moreover, some of the crockeries were also smashed, and my carpet was also ripped into two pieces. Apart from this, my antique childhood photos of my family members were also smashed completely, which is necessary to revive some of my old memories.

After that, when I opened an electrical appliance, it was not working at all. I was getting perplexed and got depressed. Regrettably, I have contacted your company since that day, but there has been no proper response to my countless calls. Now I am writing this letter to the manager and kindly try to respond to me as soon as possible. If feasible, keep my furniture for repair.

The overhead loss I will manage, and I even tried to contact a person who dropped the things at home, but he immediately refused to reimburse me for my damaged furniture during shipment. I will be obliged if you look into this matter. Otherwise, I will do strict action against your company whatever the turmoil is happening due to your workers.

I look forward to hearing from you,
