To begin with, the cause of consumerism is that people are not ready to make things their own. For example, in the case of houses, nobody is not ready to make food daily. Due to that, they brought food from nearby restaurants. From there they got the food in a plastic container. Therefore, they got junk plastic containers.
In addition, some people think that modern cars are the status symbol; accordingly, they revise cars regularly. These are some simple examples of consumerism. What are the by-products of consumerism? The government should think about it. The government should aware the public about the drawbacks of consumerism. There are many drawbacks due to this increasing production of goods. It may affect our water resources. Owing to this fact, our oceans will be polluted. It may affect fish and other life in the ocean, not only the ocean but also our atmosphere. Due to this, the production of these goods increases air pollution as well as it may increase the damage to our environment.
At last, I would like to suggest some solutions to the problem. All factories should follow the role of their nation, reduce production wastage, and recycle waste.
