Sample Answer: While Some People Think This Is Good for A Country
It has been found that in some nations of the world, only a small sect of people are paid exorbitant wages, though some individuals openly argue that such is to the nation’s benefit, while others believe that the government should have a regulatory standard for earning wages to reduce what people receive after labour.
First, to every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. There is nothing done without a reason. Those who collect high wages have a reason for doing so, and it is commensurate with their work and affects society. For example, nurses in countries such as Australia and Canada are paid higher because of the value the society places on them, as well as their input to the nation’s health. Without nurses, the health of the nation would be in jeopardy. If nurses are not well paid, their commitment and dedication to humanity will be compromised. Hence, their pay is beneficial to the government.
Secondly, a saying goes, ” Give unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar” because honour is given to whom it is due. Many people have contributed to the nation’s development in the past and even in the present, so they must be remunerated accordingly. The nation also stands to suffer from inadequate security if the works of our heroes are underestimated; therefore, paying the officers well will benefit the nation.
On the other hand, those who believe the government should control what people earn are also right in their own way. This will promote equity, fairness, and justice and will ensure that racism does not affect the pay of anyone regardless of where they work. There will be no room for laziness and a carefree attitude.
However, I wish to state that the government should be in control of what people earn, not for the purpose of reduction, but for regulations and standards to be inculcated, as well as the place of giving honour to whom it is due should not be thrown away. Though some may not agree with me, we can all say that there are some works that are more demanding, encompassing and life-consuming than others, and so, such should be put into consideration when setting standards for wages earned by workers.
