In the Developed World, Average Life Expectancy Is Increasing (1)

In the developed world, average life expectancy is increasing. What problems will this cause for individuals and society? Suggest some measures that could be taken to reduce the impact of ageing populations. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

It is implicit that nowadays, people expect to live more than ever. Therefore, individuals these days face less risk than they did in the past, and the average lifespan is suddenly skyrocketed as well. However, there are several possible factors for this problem which I would like to explicate in this essay and suggest some ways forward.

The first reason is the rapidly increasing growth of the population of elderly people, and the number of individuals who receive a regular pension is currently surging, whereas the national budget is limited. So, in that case, senior adults are frailer and more fragile, and the disease incidents are higher among them. For instance, there is a massive problem for limited countries to handle the elderly community, followed by the financial department. When the number of old age rise, this leads to a sore national budget that the government must provide for them to grow. Apart from that, the dependency would be measured as another prominent factor, and young adults will increasingly have to look after their elderly relatives, fulfil all their basic needs, and be awake more during their life span. For example, there are numerous retirement home facilities run by the government to take care of destitute individuals, thus requiring a heavy account for paying taxes and salaries towards the staff.

The solution or not simple. Therefore, the steps have to be taken on a war footing. The first possible solution can be the regimes could take some steps by raising the retirement age for working adults, perhaps from 65 to 75. This leads to people becoming more active from this age, and more products continue working. Moreover, another measure should be implemented in favour of young people and allow them to migrate to other countries. This will reduce the intensity of people, which is crucial for humanity.

In conclusion, I would like to believe that governments and individuals need to make an effort to reduce the crisis of the elderly at a time before it becomes a menace to mankind.
