The data shows the details of the underground railway system in terms of date opened, kilometres of route, And passengers per year in millions in London, Paris, Tokyo, Washington DC, Kyoto and Los Angeles.

Overall, the first underground railway system was opened in London. On the other hand, kilometres of route and passengers per year were minimum in Kyoto.

To begin with, the first underground railway system was opened in London in 1863 with 394 kilometres of the route, which was the longest route, while the Kyoto underground railway system had only 11 kilometres of the route, which was opened in 1981.
