Recent IELTS Speaking Part 1 Questions With Answers: Sports

Question 1:- Do you like to watch sports programs on TV?

Answer – Yes, I really love watching sports such as football, motor racing, tennis, volleyball etc. on TV. These sports are my favourite pastimes.

Question 2:- Do you like to watch live sports games?

Answer – Yes, I like watching live sports games in the stadium. The recent one I watched was an inter-school sports game involving secondary schools.

Question 3:- Who do you like to watch sports games with?

Answer – I mostly like watching sports with friends because they are fun to be with, and we talk and argue a lot while watching the sports games.

Question 4:- What kinds of games do you expect to watch in the future?

Answer – I’m really looking forward to watching kickboxing and wrestling because they stimulate my adrenaline.

Question 5:- Do you like sports?

Answer – Yes, I like it very much because I enjoy it and use it for away time.

Question 6:- Do you like extreme sports?

Answer – Yes, I really love watching them. For example, kickboxing and bicycle mountain climbing. It makes me feel good and happy.

Question 7:- Do most people in your country like sports?

Answer – Almost everybody likes sports in my country, Ghana, right from the youngest to the oldest. They all love sports. They mostly prefer football and exhibit their enthusiasm when the National team is playing a match. All the people rally behind the team and cheer them on. When the team wins, the whole country is thrown into a frantic uproar, and the opposite is seen when the team loses.

Question 8:- What sports do people in your country play?

Answer – They play a variety of sports. The most popular is the football and athletics. You will also find some with an interest in volleyball and tennis ball.

Question 9:- What was your favourite sport when you were a child?

Answer – As a child, I loved playing football, and the people in my neighbourhood thought I would be a footballer in the future. There was a time my teacher likened me to the Italian football legend, Roberto Baggio because of the skills I displayed during a match at school. I wish I had continued playing football.

Question 10:- Did you do much sport when you were younger?

Answer – Yes, I did loads of sports when growing up. I did football, athletics, volleyball and table tennis.

Question 11:- What kinds of sports would you like to try in the future?

Answer – I think there are several sports I get the opportunity in future I will learn to play or do. They are pole vault, jousting and basketball. I fancy people who play them.

Question 12:- Who’s your favourite sports star?

Answer – My favourite sports star is Usain Bolt from Jamaica. He is the fastest 100m runner in the world and has had many records broken and set his own, which no one has broken so far. Maybe it will take a century before somebody breaks his records. I admire what he has achieved, and I’m looking forward to meeting him in person one day.
