The streets where you live has recently become dirty. Write a letter to your local council about the problem:
1. What caused this problem?
2. What problems are faced by local people?
3. What actions the council should take?
sample answer 1:
Respected Sir,
1. What caused this problem?
I am writing this letter to complain to you about the grimy streets where I am living. There are three large drainage gutters in our street and out of which two are overflowing due to past heavy rainfall.
2. What problems are faced by local people?
This results in waste coming out of it causing the foul smell, germs, and bacteria. There are many people going out for a walk and children playing around. Now, they find it difficult to go out as dirty water can cause serious illness and infection to them. Moreover, there is also one open manhole at the end of the street and no signage is been placed by the local council to aware pedestrians.
3. What actions the council should take?
I request local council authorities to clean the sewers so waste doesn’t leak out of sewerage and water flow effortlessly. Also, please place the lid on the manhole or any signage so that the walker doesn’t fall in it and hurt themself.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Heena Kochhar
sample answer 2:
Dear Sir or Madam,
1. What caused this problem?
I am writing this letter to a formal complaint about the condition of our street. Because of the residential area its been awful hard to survive here now. Giving a little introduction to myself. My name is Heena Kochhar and I am living in Hamilton west coast area street number 54, state ON.
2. What problems are faced by local people?
I requested the municipal office about the worse condition of the road, which got damaged due to excessive rain and snow. The water of rain accumulates in the potholes on the surface of the road which results in the chances of accidents because the water potholes are invisible. Along with this, kids are not able to play outside and they are stuck inside. Everyone is not disappointed and frustrated by seeing the condition of the street which is getting worse day by day.
3. What actions the council should take?
I am requesting you to rebuild our street as soon as possible so we can go out without putting our lives
in danger.
Yours Sincerely,
Heena Kochhar
