I would like to talk about a rule I disliked. When I was in primary school, we had a set day for the inspection of underwear. And if, unfortunately, you happen to be a victim of those with outmoded and unclean type, you will have to weed a portion of land.

I never liked this idea though it was purposely to set our minds on keeping clean underwear. But I prefer the punishment given out should have been considered for reasons that some students were from a poor background, so it was not their fault that things were like that.

Secondly, it was a form of trauma because u would be teased till your colleagues were tired of you. Although it was a shameful act to some people, others too liked it because they believed it put them on their toes, so they did not experience such a problem.

Because my interest was not in that rule because of the bad treatment given, I do not wish to continue with it someday. I suggest this rule should be reviewed with a different alternative.

Question 1:- Why do schools make rules?

Answer – I think schools set rules to govern the student body. These rules are made for the students to follow, and punishments are meted out when one goes against them. I remember my school used to punish latecomers who failed to attend school early, and they would be made to plant flowers for two days. And this really affected victims because the work was done during class hours.

Question 2:- What’s the importance of obeying the law?

Answer – Sticking to rules protect one from being reprimanded. It helps you become disciplined in all spheres of life and can also be rewarded for obeying laws. For instance, we all know that you can be punished for over-speeding if caught. Doing this will limit the rate at which road accidents occur, and there’s a fear that you shouldn’t get over speed because of punishment.

Question 3:- What can parents and teachers do to help children follow rules?

Answer – I think parents and teachers should be role models for children to copy. As they do the right thing, the children will also follow to be better citizens in future. Corporal punishment should be given to those who deviate from the law to serve as a warning to others. They can also be rewarded when they do the right thing to encourage others to do the same. Especially when a child is given a gift for a good performance at school will motivate him or her to do more, and there are packages for the excellent work done.

Question 4:- Is it a good thing to break rules sometimes?

Answer – I will say yes because some laws need to be reviewed to benefit everybody. On the other hand, I will say no, because breaking rules bring indiscipline. Things are done haphazardly, which does not help.

Question 5:- Why do some people say that rules are made to be broken?

Answer – I think they say this, especially when they want to make some amendments. Some laws hurt others whiles others too benefit from them. Sometimes it needs to be reviewed to the benefit of all. Imagine an association setting rules that, if you hold an executive position and vacate your post, there has to be one year before they can elect someone to occupy the position. In this case, the law set earlier needs to be amended to help with the smooth running of the organization.

Question 6:- Do you think it is necessary for children to wear school uniforms?

Answer – Yes, it is indispensable for children to wear school uniforms. Uniforms are worn for identification purposes. Children wearing school attires of their various school will make everybody recognize them easily. So I think it’s essential for them to wear uniforms so as to help pinpoint wherever we deem them. For example, nurses and doctors are identified by their uniforms.

Question 7:- Are the rules at school good or bad? Why?

Answer – Generally, some laws are good because they modify the pupils’ behaviour so they have a better life. Like I said earlier that because I was being punished for my lateness at school time, from there, I learnt to be punctual at all times. And this has had a more significant impact on my nursing career because I try to be at work on time. Some are bad because some of the children turn out to be wayward due to the exposure they encounter. You are not giving your child money for upkeep as a punishment for wrongdoing, which continues for a very long time. This child will turn out to steal from you or others, and it will become a habit that no one can control. The person might end up in jail.

Question 8:- What rules should children follow at home?

Answer – Because parents are seen as role models to children, they should learn to obey the laws or rules set by them. By performing house chores like cleaning, washing, cooking and others.

Question 9:- How are people punished when parking at the wrong spot?

Answer – They are made to pay a fine. This serves as a deterrent to others since improper packaging can cause an accident.
