  • When Was It?
  • Where Was It?
  • Why Did You Laugh?
  • Why Was It the Wrong Moment to Laugh?

I was a student at university, and one day, I attended a math class with my friend. As you know, math can be a rather dull subject, and I often feel sleepy.

I usually don’t play with my phone, but that day, I glanced at it and saw a joke my friend sent me. I laughed loudly, which caught the attention of the professor.

He stared at me and asked, ‘Why are you looking at your phone? I need to talk with you.’ Everyone was quiet, and all eyes were on me. I felt under pressure and realized it was a big mistake.

I felt very sorry about my behaviour and wanted to make amends. My professor gave me the benefit of the doubt since my grades were high, but warned that if it happened again, she wouldn’t be so lenient.

Part 3 Questions

Question 1: Is laughing good for our health?

For me, it’s essential to have fun times in life. Living through serious moments without any jokes can make life dull. We should cherish each other’s company and not live without laughter.

Question 2: Why do people laugh less these days?

Many things have changed nowadays. People are very busy with their jobs, spending long hours at work and less time with family. The way people communicate and interact with their peers has shifted towards a more serious and mundane life, dominated by work commitments.

Question 3: How can we make people laugh more?

Of course, we can make people laugh more, but it depends on personality. In my family, my younger sister always manages to make us laugh. She has a unique talent. Even though I find jokes on the internet, the way she delivers them makes them more enjoyable.

Question 4: Do you laugh at all types of jokes?

No, actually. While some jokes are very funny and cheer me up, it really depends on who tells them. I’ve noticed a significant difference when the joke comes from my friend compared to my sister; my sister is the funniest, and I enjoy our time together immensely.
