One and a half months ago I went to Sardar Patel Stadium, which is the world’s biggest cricket stadium, and recently got renovated. I think the match was between India and West Indies. I am not sure but I think west-indies won that match. It was a surreal experience. I always wondered why people like to be in the stadium which is full of crowds and you can not even see your favorite player up close. But that visit changed my opinion. All those cheers and the excitement of people were mind-boggling.
When did it happen?
It happened in the month of March, I cannot recall the exact date but it was Monday, I am able to remember this because all of our friends were excited and discussed the visit the entire weekend.
where it took place?
It took place in Ahmedabad only. The stadium is so huge that the address is referred to as Sardar Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Who you watched it with?
I went there with two of my office colleagues who are my friends as well And my neighbor was also there with us. We had a spare ticket and he is a huge fan of Cris Gayle who is one of the players of west-indies, So we decided to invite him.

After visiting the stadium my perspective got changed. Earlier I used to think that why waste the money where you can watch the same game on your television. But after visiting and witnessing all the craziness I understood that it is quite different and the excitement of the game also raises to a thousand percent.

I think Cricket is the most popular sporting event. Although Hockey is the national game of India, People are much attracted to Cricket as cricket gives more fame to its player.

In our community, the proper structure is there to uplift someone’s ability in any specific sport. If you are a student and good in a particular sport then you can sign up for inter-college tournaments and these tournaments will then decide the representatives of their state and later state-level tournaments will happen. This is how the Indian cricket team found gems like Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya. Apart from that if you are an individual and interested in any specific game then you can signup to represent your city and take part in intercity tournaments.
Question 5:- do men and women play the same kind of sports?
In the earlier ’90s women were not active in outdoor activities but now women are leading in all the areas of sport in our country. Now we have our Women’s cricket team and is pretty aggressive.
Question 6:- How do you think the government could encourage more people to exercise and participate in sport?
Government should provide basic necessities of any game. There should be grounds on which people can practice or exercise. it should provide a better budget to meet the requirement of different sports.
Question 7:- Do you prefer to watch a sports event on TV at home or to watch them live? why?
Earlier I used to like to watch an event at my home in peace. But after my last visit I always try to watch in the stadium live, but due to the hefty ticket price sometimes I have to adjust and I have to watch it on TV.
Question 8:- What is the importance of sports or exercise ?
Sports/exercise will always keep you active. All the physical activities that you do help your body, burn fat and as a result, people will leave a healthy lifestyle.
Question 9:- Does the ticket price to live sporting events affect decisions to attend?
Yes, The average ticket to be in stand costs around 7 to 8 thousand and the VIP ticket goes up to 35 thousand for a single match and if the demand increases the price of the ticket also increases. Last year I was trying to get the ticket for India and Pakistan’s match but the price was so high that I had to drop that plan.
