People aged 65 or above remain productive as long as there are no signs of significant deterioration in their performance at work. Often, they seem like precious assets to commercial companies, for instance, their richer working experience, more mature soft-skills, stronger analytical skills, and a more comprehensive outlook on their field of specialization. On the other hand, opposers may point out the health issues of these seniors. Understandably, aging may reduce one’s physical strength and immune system year over year. Diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetics even heart attack are more easily found and developed in people at an older age. Nevertheless, with the ever-rising sense of self-care and balanced eating habits and lifestyle, these so-called “norms” have been changed. Thereafter, old-age and sicknesses have no direct relationship and thus, not necessarily a threat nor potential risk for companies retaining staff at a higher age.

CONCLUSION

To conclude, gift-quality of output and professionalism within the senior workforce are bargaining still. Extension on retirement should not be detained in the myths of “down turning health state” on the elderly. Governors and enterprises should instead, be encouraged to make good use of people at golden age.
