Some Think that Fathers Should Have Time Off from Work After the Birth of A Child

Some think that fathers should have time off from work after the birth of a child. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Parents, especially, fathers are considered as the cornerstone of each family. Here a few argue that men should take their paternity leave for taking care of their newborns. I utterly agree with this statement because it can lay the groundwork for co-parenting and family stability. Apart from that, it can enhance the greater levels of job satisfaction with their jobs and careers.

Firstly, dads who take paternity leaves often have a better relationship with their partners. Additionally, the men can navigate into the nurturing and developing lessons of the family. Moreover, the partners can usher their men into sleepless nights and providing an opportunity to cope up with postpartum depression scenarios. Taking paternity leaves will enhance the essence of confidence in fathers for handling their news born, and it will improve the bonding between the child and father. In my own experience, My husband took his paternity leave when we got our first baby girl. At that time, I was suffering from postpartum blues, and most of the time, my husband had to take care of her and me. So he can easily adapt to the situations since he had plenty of time for us. For example, After delivery, both women and babies undergo variant kinds of crises at these times; the husband for the lady and the father for the baby will definitely ease the scenarios.

Secondly, men who take an equal role in family caregiving, including taking paternity leave, report higher levels of job satisfaction. That benefits their employer, too. Cheerful employees are more engaged and productive, and that can have a halo effect on their colleagues, as well. Moreover, it supports gender equality; the responsibility of parenting could not be confined to one gender, nor should a company’s parental benefits. So offering paternity leaves indirectly promotes gender equality. For instance, taking paternity leaves really recharges and engages the employees and feeling good about themselves and their families. It is true that taking off from the workplace might cause economic ramifications. However, presenting themselves near to their partners will reflect a huge relief on them.

In conclusion, some people believe that fathers should take paternity leave to support their families. I believe I strongly agree with the statement as it can enhance more work-life balance bonds with the family members.
