Today Family Members Eat Fewer Meals Together. Why Is This? Writing Task 2: Is This a Positive or Negative Trend?
In recent years, it has been observed that more and more family members rarely gather together for their daily meals. This trend happened due to today’s busy schedule of individuals. However, it is the total responsibility of the parents to spend some valuable time with their children. This essay looks into both aspects in detail.
On the one hand, the foremost reason is urbanization. As today’s generation is moving to metro politician cities for their bright future, they are busy earning much more money. Professional people devote more time to their workplace. Also, parents must spend more time with their children due to their hectic schedules. For instance, parents are also spending their time on household chores, and children are too busy with their academic activities. As a consequence, spending quality time at the dinner table is impossible.
On the other hand, recent technological developments are used excessively for entertainment or education. Moreover, every family member spends their leisure time browsing through social media. Even they spend more time alone on electronic gadgets. Not only are they addicted to social websites, but they also avoid their physical and mental health. For example, people utilize their time on the internet more and enjoy their own company rather than sitting together with their family.
Families do not sit together due to their busy lifestyles and social networking addiction. In my opinion, this is a negative development because it affects the bonding of families and leads to depression, anxiety, and other psychological disorders.
